I've worked in media for over 40 years and to paraphrase the opening line from Charles Dicken's Tale of Two Cities, "It is the best of times, it is the worst of times". What do I mean by that? It's the best of times because marketing and advertising opportunities are exploding with the growth of the internet and digital advertising. Businesses have many more measurable and effective methods for their marketing and promotional efforts. However, with all of these choices, mistakes can be made and dollars wasted, which is why I say that it may also be the worst of times for businesses if they can't differentiate the good from the bad when they make advertising decisions.
